Our initial hope for this Epilogues project was that we would be able to interview a number of refugees in the Charlotte area and tell their stories here. We had to adjust our plans due to COVID-19 and the interruption to our semester that it caused.
Thanks to the generosity of Luna, a fellow Davidson student, and her mother, Mrs. J, we were able to continue with our project almost as planned.
Luna and Mrs. J kindly agreed to meet with us via Zoom a few weeks before the close of the semester so that we could hear from them about their experiences as refugees in Charlotte.
We are very grateful to the whole family for sharing their story with us. We hope our readers will gain a deeper understanding of the resettlement experience after reading these transcripts, as we have. Please navigate to the “Resettlement Agencies” section of our website after finishing these Epilogues and find out how you can better serve your refugee neighbors in Charlotte.
